What is LightGPT?

Amazon/LightGPT is a text generation AI model based on GPT-J 6B. It is fine-tuned on a high-quality instruction dataset called OIG-Small-Chip2, which consists of approximately 200k training examples. The model is developed by AWS contributors and is licensed under Apache 2.0.

LightGPT-Instruct-6B is designed to generate responses based on given instructions. Users can provide an instruction that describes a task, and the model will generate a response that appropriately completes the request.

For example, if the instruction is to determine whether a pomegranate is ripe, the model can generate a response that includes information about signs to look for, such as the color, size, and texture of a ripe pomegranate. It may also suggest smelling the fruit for a sweet aroma.
