# Liquid AI

Liquid AI, spun out of MIT, develops Liquid Foundation Models (LFMs) — a new class of models built on a different architecture than standard transformers, designed to deliver strong quality with far smaller memory and compute footprints. The result is models that can run efficiently on phones, laptops, and embedded hardware while still handling long context and multimodal inputs, making genuinely private on-device AI practical. Through its LEAP developer platform and the Apollo app, Liquid lets developers discover, fine-tune, and deploy compact models across edge and cloud, and offers an enterprise stack for building AI that meets latency, cost, and data-control requirements. Because the models are small and fast, they suit use cases like offline assistants, automotive and IoT systems, robotics, and high-volume enterprise workloads where running huge cloud models is too slow or expensive. Liquid AI targets device makers, enterprises, and developers who need capable AI that fits within tight hardware and privacy constraints.
